DML Morning Briefing Mon. Nov. 1: Chaos reigns amid staff shortages from vax mandates, and more…

Today is November 1 and I am Dennis Michael Lynch. Below are my opinions on the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room, in my opinion. And don’t forget to download the free DML App from the Google Play or Apple App Store to remain connected to me throughout the day.

1 – American Airlines has ALREADY canceled 200 flights this morning – after 1,000 were scuttled on Sunday: Carrier blames staff shortages and WIND for chaos
The Daily Mail reports: American Airlines continued its Halloween horror of a weekend by cancelling more than 200 flights early Monday morning, following more than 1,700 cancellations since Friday as experts warn of looming chaos ahead of the holiday season.

The airline has blamed weather control issues, such as strong winds that battered its Dallas hub earlier this weekend, and ongoing staff shortages due to lay-offs made when travel cratered at the start of the COVID outbreak.

In total, nearly 2,000 flights have been axed by the airline since Friday with up to 1,000 delays and 500 cancellations potentially looming, according to FlightAware.

On Sunday alone, more than 850 flights were cancelled, more than 16 percent of that day’s fleet total, while 365 trips were delayed. Prior to that, 543 flights were cancelled on Saturday while 400 were delayed, and on Friday, 343 cancellations happened.

(The Wall Street Journal reported that the majority of American’s cancellations Saturday were due to a lack of available crew members, especially flight attendants.)

DML:  Over 80 million people really voted for this??  No way!

2 – Joe Biden Blames Russia and Saudi Arabia for Not Producing Enough Oil After Restricting U.S. Production
Breitbart reports: President Joe Biden complained that Russia and Saudi Arabia were not producing enough oil to alleviate high gas prices in the United States, despite his administration’s efforts to reduce domestic production.

“I do think the idea that Russia and Saudi Arabia, and other major producers are not going to pump more oil so people can have gasoline to get to and from work, for example, is not right,” Biden said during a press conference after the G20 Summit in Europe.

On Saturday, the president urged energy producing countries at the summit to boost oil production to pressure OPEC+ nations to increase supply and reduce gas prices around the world.

The president acknowledged to reporters that it appeared ironic he was traveling to Glasgow, Scotland, for a climate change summit with world leaders even while asking oil producing nations to produce more. But he argued that the economy was still powered by oil.

DML: The world is laughing their heads off at America right now.

3 – Terrifying surveillance video captures suspect firing Molotov cocktails into deli
Fox News reports: Fire Marshals with the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) arrested a suspect Sunday who allegedly used improvised incendiary devices that damaged a deli in Brooklyn.

Fire Marshals arrested 38-year-old Joel Mangel for the alleged use of what are commonly known as “Molotov cocktails,” which he is accused of having using against a deli on Nostrand Avenue in Brooklyn, according to an announcement from Fire Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro. (In New York, fire marshals are armed police officers with full powers of arrest.)

Firefighters, who arrived to the deli within three minutes after being called Sunday at 7:53 a.m., rapidly brought the situation under control and also provided medical treatment for a person who suffered injuries that were non-life-threatening.

A Facebook post includes an additional video with surveillance footage from outside, which shows Mangel attempted to throw a second bomb into the store, and a passerby stopped him.

4 – 26 FDNY firehouse companies out of service over vaccine mandate staff shortage
The New York Post reports: The FDNY shuttered 26 fire companies citywide on Saturday due to staff shortages caused by the COVID-19 vaccination mandate, according to furious elected officials, who ripped the move as “unconscionable” — and warned it could have catastrophic consequences.

The shutdown came amid a pitched battle between City Hall, which on Monday will start enforcing a mandate that all city workers have at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and jab-resisting firefighters, many reportedly saying they were already sick with the coronavirus and therefore have “natural immunity.”

No borough or neighborhood was spared, with the shuttered companies ranging from Engine Co. 55 in lower Manhattan, to Engine Co. 234 in Crown Heights, to Engine Co. 231 in Brownsville. Others included Ladder Co. 128 in Long Island City and Engine Co. 158 and Ladder Co. 78 on Staten Island, according to information provided by Malliotakis and Councilman Joe Borelli (R-SI), who cited the Uniformed Firefighters Association. Borelli said the list of 26 came from a FDNY alert dispatched to members.

FDNY spokesman Jim Long said the closings are not permanent, describing the companies as “temporarily out of service” and the situation as “fluid” since it was shifting firefighters to units where they were needed.

(The NY Post stated in another report: “More than 24,000 city workers will be forced to stay home Monday when Mayor de Blasio’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate goes into effect, raising concerns about the impact on emergency response times in the five boroughs.”)

DML: The vaccine mandates have created a massive train wreck!

5 – Ibram X. Kendi: ‘Horrifying’ His Daughter Said She Wants to Be a Boy
Breitbart reports: In a video posted on Twitter Ibram X. Kendi, the man celebrated by the left for his efforts to insert Critical Race Theory in the nation’s schools, said it was “horrifying” when his daughter announced she wanted to be a boy.

“Even talking about gender, you know, I think it was last week my daughter came home and said she wanted to be a boy,” Kendi said in a video that includes his name on the screen. “You know, which was horrifying for my wife to hear, myself to hear.”

“And so of course, you know, we’re like, okay, what affirmative messages about girlhood, you know, can we be teaching her to protect her from whatever she’s hearing in our home or even outside of our home that would make her want to be a boy,” he continued.

DML: So… the radicals want to push this stuff on US, but even they know it’s horrifying!
