DML Morning Briefing Thurs. Nov. 18: OSHA caves, a ‘woke’ school, and more…!

By Team DML

Today is November 18 and I am Dennis Michael Lynch. Below are my opinions on the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room, in my opinion.

1 – OSHA suspends implementation of Biden’s COVID vaccine mandate until further court order
Fox Business reports: The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has put on hold the Biden administration’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for U.S. employers with 100 employees or more, after being told by a court last week that it must do so.

The Department of Labor, which oversees OSHA, told Fox News Wednesday the agency has suspended the implementation and enforcement of the mandate while it remains tied up in court.

In an update on its website on Wednesday, OSHA noted that last week “the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit granted a motion to stay OSHA’s COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Emergency Temporary Standard” and “ordered that OSHA ‘take no steps to implement or enforce’ the ETS ‘until further court order.’”

The statement adds, “While OSHA remains confident in its authority to protect workers in emergencies, OSHA has suspended activities related to the implementation and enforcement of the ETS pending future developments in the litigation.”

DML: Score!

2 – Biden shakes hands maskless but decides to put mask on before photo
Fox News reports: President Biden mingled maskless with members of the public before putting one on to take a selfie following a Wednesday speech.

After speaking about his infrastructure bill at a GM plant in Detroit, Michigan, Biden went on to shake hands with the crowd while neglecting to mask up. He later appeared to cover up as someone took a picture with him. He kept the mask on afterward.

The White House on Tuesday chose not to follow Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser’s decision to end the requirement that people mask indoors.

DML: Magoo doesn’t have a clue what he’s doing!

3 – ‘Anonymous’ Miles Taylor: GOP ‘Becoming the Party of Political Violence’
Breitbart reports: Former Trump administration DHS official Miles Taylor, the anonymous author of The New York Times op-ed article in 2018 criticizing President Donald Trump, said Wednesday on MSNBC’s “Deadline” that the Republican Party was “becoming the party of political violence.”

Taylor said, “The idea that the FBI is monitoring First Amendment protective speech and parents at school board meeting is crazy because what’s happening is the bureau is merely responding, and the DHS is responding to the threat indicators they see on a day-to-day basis. That’s what they do. I’ve put together those National Threat Advisory bulletins before at DHS. I’ve overseen that process before. It’s totally based on line analysts who are looking at information. It’s not based on politics or attempts to suppress free speech.”

He continued, “Clearly, what Republicans are doing is they’re hijacking, weaponizing real threats for political purposes. What is sad about this is the Republican Party, my party, used to be the party of public safety, and now it’s becoming the party of political violence.”

DML: No, we’re the party standing for Freedom and the Constitution!

4 – Middle school reverts back to virtual learning as students lack necessary ‘socialization skills’
Fox News reports: A middle school outside of Portland, Oregon is abruptly transitioning back to virtual learning for the next three weeks to implement new “safety protocols” as many children are lacking “socialization skills” necessary in a classroom after a year of at-home learning during the pandemic.

Reynolds Middle School in Fairview, Oregon, about 14 miles east of Portland, cancelled in-person classes for the next three weeks to ensure the “necessary social-emotional supports” and “safety protocols” are in place “to provide a safe learning environment for all students,” according to superintendent Dr. Danna Diaz. She said the time will allow administrators, teachers, and support staff to work together to implement “operational safety procedures” before in-person instruction resumes on Dec. 7.

“The shifts in learning methods and isolation caused by COVID-19 closures and quarantines have taken a toll on the well-being of our students and staff,” Diaz wrote in a letter to families and staff Tuesday justifying the sudden decision. “We are finding that some students are struggling with the socialization skills necessary for in-person learning, which is causing disruption in school for other students.”

A district spokesman, Steve Padilla, told The Oregonian that the closure was prompted by fights and other behavioral problems among students but declined to go into detail about the frequency of those on-campus brawls. He said weapons were not involved according to the best of his knowledge.

“We need to take care of this now. It’s urgent,” Padilla said. “It’s not just fighting – It’s disruptive behaviors as well. Students are disrupting other students, making it hard for them to learn.”

DML: Pathetic! Shut down the whole school instead of kicking out disruptive students?! Are there any common-sense adults left to stand up and take charge?

5 – Fauci says COVID-19 booster might become new standard for being vaccinated
The New York Post reports: COVID-19 booster shots may become the new standard to be considered fully vaccinated, according to the nation’s top doctor.

Dr. Anthony Fauci discussed the impending need for hundreds of millions of Americans to roll up their sleeves and get the jab during a pre-taped interview that aired at the 2021 STAT Summit in Boston this week, according to ABC News.

“I happen to believe as an immunologist and infectious disease person that a third-shot boost for an mRNA [vaccine] … should be part of the actual standard regimen, where a booster isn’t a luxury,” the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases reportedly said.

“A booster isn’t an add-on and a booster is part of what the original regimen should be. So that when we look back on this, we’re going to see that boosters are essential for an optimal vaccine regimen,” Fauci told the audience, according to the network.

DML: As I’ve said over and over before… Fauci and his cronies don’t EVER intend for this to end!
