1 – Youngkin victory deals another blow to Biden, as agenda stalls in Congress
Fox News reports: Republican Glenn Youngkin’s victory in Virginia’s gubernatorial election Tuesday night dealt another blow to President Biden and Democrats, as the political newcomer flipped a typically blue state red in a signal of what could be to come in the 2022 midterms.

Youngkin’s victory is the first statewide for the Republican Party in Virginia in 12 years – in what some saw as a referendum on Biden’s presidency and his legislative agenda pending in Congress.

“The Youngkin win in Virginia sends a signal to Democrats: Americans want to get back to work and want their kids to succeed and don’t want policies that are aimed to pit people against each other,” a senior House GOP aide told Fox News. “If I were a moderate Democrat, I’d take tonight as a clear sign that a vote for trillions of dollars of socialist spending while inflation is already hurting Americans’ pocketbooks is a vote in the wrong direction.”

Even David Axelrod, an adviser to former President Obama, questioned whether returns in Virginia’s gubernatorial election were forcing Democrats to rethink their votes on Biden’s multitrillion-dollar spending plan.

“If you’re a Democrat sitting on Capitol Hill and you’re from one of these swing districts in suburban areas, are you rethinking tonight your vote on this reconciliation package?” Axelrod said Tuesday night on CNN. “Are you thinking, maybe it’s best, we shouldn’t do it.”

DML: The American people are waking up and taking back the country.

2 – Diversity plan opponents win control of school board in Southlake, Texas
NBC News reports: In Southlake, Texas, where parents have been feuding for more than a year over a school district’s proposal to address racism, candidates supported by a conservative political action committee won majority control of the school board Tuesday, clearing the way for the board to officially kill the polarizing diversity plan.

A special election to replace a board member of the Carroll Independent School District who resigned this summer definitively shifted the balance of power to opponents of the proposed Cultural Competence Action Plan. Voters in the affluent suburb northwest of Dallas delivered a landslide victory Tuesday to Andrew Yeager, who campaigned against the district’s plan for new diversity training programs and changes to the curriculum.

Yeager, a regional ad sales executive for NBCUniversal-owned TV stations, won 65.4 percent of the more than 9,400 ballots cast. His opponent, Stephanie Williams, a former teacher who supported the diversity plan, received 34.6 percent. (NBC News is part of NBCUniversal.)

The victory caps a yearlong campaign by Southlake Families PAC, a group formed by local Republican Party leaders in response to the district’s diversity efforts. The PAC, which describes itself as “unapologetically rooted in Judeo-Christian values,” raised $250,000 and poured much of it into local elections.

DML: Another huge win. Progressives, we don’t want what you’re selling!

3 – Kamala Harris’ prediction that Virginia result presages 2022 and 2024 comes back to bite Democrats
Fox News reports: Vice President Kamala Harris’ prediction about the Virginia governor’s race may come back to bite her and her fellow Democrats.

Back when she was campaigning for former Gov. Terry McAuliffe, Harris said, “What happens in Virginia will, in large part, determine what happens in 2022, 2024, and on.”

Analysts have described the Virginia gubernatorial election as a “bellwether” election for the 2022 midterms, suggesting that Youngkin’s victory presages a Republican win next year.

If Harris’ prediction holds, that means Republicans would have an edge in the 2022 midterm elections and the 2024 presidential election, and on.

DML: This might be the first time I absolutely approve of something she’s said. Let’s go make it happen!

4 – DNC Chair Harrison: Republicans ‘Have Become a Party of Fascism and Fear’
Breitbart: Democratic National Committee chairman Jaime Harrison declared Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Deadline” that the Republican Party had “become a party of fascism and fear.”

Anchor Nicolle Wallace said, “Are you surprised that Republicans took this real distortion of what Critical Race Theory is, a theory taught in law schools, not in public elementary schools, and turned it into such a thing for their voters?”

Harrison said, “We know dog whistles when we hear them. But the sad part is that you even have some press who are following up with some of these same issues. I had an earlier interview today, and the person interviewing me said that, yeah, Critical Race Theory, and that it’s taught in public schools in Virginia. I’m like, which ones? This is a theory in law school. This is a dog whistle to divide people. And so, let’s call it what it is. It is about racial divisions, racial hatred, racial animosity. And that’s what they want to focus on right now. But what Terry wants to focus on is all of the people in the Commonwealth of Virginia, how he can continue to deliver for them, making their lives better. That’s what all Democrats want right now. It’s sad to see where the Republican Party is going because they have become a party of fascism and fear. Those are the two things that really motivate them right now, and that is sad.”

DML: And this is exactly why Democrats are losing – they just don’t get it! We’re not a party of fear – we’re pro-American and pro-family!

5 – First children get their Covid-19 vaccines: Hartford Healthcare becomes first to give low dose shots to children aged 5-11 minutes after CDC officially signed off on approval
The Daily Mail reports: A hospital in Connecticut began administering Covid-19 vaccines to children, aged between five to 11, just minutes after the CDC officially signed off on approval.

Hartford Hospital vaccinated six children with a low dose of Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine on Tuesday evening and dozens more will get the shot today.

The Centers for Disease Control’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices on Tuesday unanimously voted 14-0 to recommend the Pfizer-BioNTech’s Covid pediatric vaccine dose for five to 11-year-olds.

CDC director Dr Rochelle Walensky then signed off on the vote, meaning that approximately 28 million children in the US are now eligible for the shots.

But the CDC’s decision has caused a storm of controversy with opponents pointing to the fact there is little evidence to suggest vaccinating children is necessary. Data shows Covid poses a low risk to the age group, with children accounting for less than 0.1 percent of Covid deaths in America.

DML: This makes me sick to my stomach.
